Shades of Sears
17 June 2011 11:50Ordered a new fridge last week. Lowe's had incredible prices, plus one of my cc's is giving 5% rebate on stuff from home improvement stores.
The website claimed it was in stock in Saugus. After I ordered, I got a call from the store saying they were out and it would be about a week. A week went by and nothing.. so I sent email off to find out wtf.
Today I get a call that they were about to delivery - no advanced notice. Turns out their automated system called me last night, and thought it got through even tho it was a disconnected call according to my phone. So I scramble to clean out the old one, clear a path, etc etc.
The fridge is now in and running! The delivery guys were great, took doors off as needed, got them back on without a fuss.
For those unfamiliar, there was a previous saga involving Sears, which resulted in me handing them a lifetime blacklist, no chance of forgiveness.
As a side note, this is, while several years newer, the exact same make/model that the Sears f*&^ers said would not fit. And they didn't even have to take banisters off.
