I watched Sliding Doors for the first time this weekend. I recall watching the opening credits, seeing that it was produced by Sydney Pollack, and thinking "Oh wow, he was involved in this?" No, I'd never seen SD before, despite renting it three times and at least two other plans with friends - things just kept managing to get in the way. And yes, I really enjoyed it. Made me think a pile about various things that have gone on in my life too (including all the missed chances to have seen it earlier).
Flipped up my news this morning and found out that Sydney had passed away yesterday.
I now have a hankering to watch other things he directed, produced, and/or acted in. If anyone would like join join me (or proffer space since mine isn't grand) wednesday or thursday night, let me know.
